Today was my first day of service learning and it was great being able to research and find out new information about this great organization. United Way is an organization that stands for the dignity and worth of people. Against racism, prejudice, hatred, and violence, they help people come together as one and help one another throughout not only the community but the whole world. United Way focuses on education, financial stability, and health. Helping children and youth reach their full potential, helping families pave a path to financial independence, and helping people live healthier lives are their main goals. They partner with the community and organizations such as, Center for Autism, Fairchild Botanical Garden, and many Universities in order to help students.
Together as a community and school we are able to help others around us, and I cant wait to experience the power of United Way.
